Vascular Surgery

A team of nationally recognized vascular surgeons from JVC lead in the practice and development of advanced surgical techniques. Areas of special focus include endovascular surgery and angioplasty, arterial bypass for limb salvage, carotid surgery for stroke prevention, venous thrombosis and wound care management.

As vascular surgeons at JVC, Drs. Comerota, Whalen, Pigott, Seiwert, Dosick, and Gale practice in one of the nation's largest and most advanced vascular centers. These surgeons also conduct research to develop improved methods of treating vascular conditions and are active in educational programs nationally.

JVC vascular surgeons have contributed to improved methods of carotid surgery, techniques for repairing the circulation of abdominal organs,and new methods for surgery of the venous circulation. They are leaders

As part of its ongoing mission, JVC routinely holds training sessions on the latest techniques and devices for regional vascular surgeons. In the photo above, Dr. John P. Pigott, MD, FACS (center) trains surgeons in JVC’s dedicated endovascular surgical suite. Dr. Pigott is using fluoroscopy to monitor a newly implanted aortic endograft for migration.

Vascular surgeons at JVC are certified by the American Board of Surgery with added qualifications in vascular surgery. They are active leaders and contributors in national and international professional societies and journals.
