As part of our commitment to the community, Jobst Vascular Center offers monthly free vascular screenings including:
  Carotid Scan - a painless ultrasound test to help identify the risk of stroke

Aortic Scan - a painless ultrasound test to detect abdominal aneurysms that could rupture and be fatal

PAD Testing - a painless measurement of circulation to your legs to detect peripheral arterial disease

To qualify for these FREE screenings, you must be over the age of 65, or over the age of 50 with a history of one or more of the following vascular problems:
 
  • diabetes
  • high blood pressure
  • family history of vascular disease
  • smoking
  • high cholesterol

  Frequently asked questions:
1.)

Do I need an appointment for the free screenings at Jobst Vascular Center?

Yes, in order to minimize your wait for the screenings, please call 419-291-2080 to schedule an appointment time.
   
2.)

Should I take my medicine before I arrive?

Yes, take any prescribed medication that you normally take.
   
3.)

Can I eat before these screenings?

Yes, because these are screenings, you may eat a light breakfast or lunch before you arrive for the screening. If additional testing is required by your family physician, you may be asked to follow different guidelines.
   
4.)

I’m not 50 years old yet, but I have a history of one or more of the vascular problems you listed (diabetes, smoking, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, family history of vascular disease). Can I still have the free screenings performed?

Absolutely. Although the risk of vascular disease does increase with age, the risk is also higher for those with a history of the vascular problems you listed in your question. We will gladly screen you under these circumstances.

Is there anything else I need to know about the screening?

Please wear loose-fitting clothes so that the technician has easy access to your neck, stomach, and lower legs
