Interventional Radiology
JVC vascular surgeons work closely with interventional radiologists, physicians who are specially trained in the use of imaging techniques to insert thin tubes (catheters) and other tiny instruments through the blood vessels of the body to treat a wide variety of conditions that once required surgery. Every interventional radiologist associated with JVC has been trained by leading university fellowship programs and has special competence in catheter and guide wire manipulation. The team is experienced in sophisticated catheter-based techniques to improve circulation disorders using angioplasty, thrombolysis and other minimally invasive methods. They use state-of-the-art imaging methods, such as digital angiography, magnetic resonance imaging and spiral CT scanning with 3-D reconstruction.
