Toledo, OH—March 2004—Sergio Salles-Cunha, Ph.D., Clinical Research Director at Jobst Vascular Center, was recently awarded the 2004 Pioneer Award by the Society for Vascular Ultrasound (SVU). The Pioneer Award is the highest scientific award presented by SVU to acknowledge an individual’s unique contribution to the field of vascular technology. Dr. Salles-Cunha’s “analytical brilliance and educational enthusiasm in noninvasive vascular ultrasound” was noted by the Awards Committee, as was his status as a “national and international lecturer and author who has detailed many innovative noninvasive techniques in the evalution of peripheral arterial disease.” Dr. Salles-Cunha will receive his award at the SVU’s 27th Annual Conference in Anaheim, CA on June 5, 2004
