Andrew J. Seiwert, MD, FACS, provided a lecture on "Pelvic Congestion Syndrome" at a recent EVN conference

Program Overview - This program will provide nurses, technologists and other vascular health care professionals with up-to-date information on vascular disease topics to facilitate care delivery in hospitals, clinics, long-term care facilities, office practices, or home.

Accreditation - ProMedica Health System (OH-069) is an approved provider of continuing education by the Ohio Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. OBN-001-91. This program hours are being finalized.

Objectives

  • Describe types of prostheses, off-loading devices to facilitate joint range of motion after amputation.

  • Describe key aspects of care for patients with venous diseases, such as May-Thurner syndrome and Paget Schroeder Disease (Effort Thrombosis).

  • Discuss current approaches to managing patients with type 2 diabetes.

  • Apply national guidelines for managing patient with Peripheral Arterial Disease.

  • Describe the etiology, diagnostic testing and treatment for patients with acute and chronic renal failure.

  • Identify risk factors and nursing interventions for women with cardiovascular diseases.

  • Describe the etiology, diagnostic testing and treatment of patients with thoracoabdominal aortic aneurysms.

  • List K-DOKEY guidelines for fistula access

Fees and Registration
The general registration fee is $80. Discounted rates are available for Lake Erie Health Alliance Member at $70 and ProMedica Health System Associate at $60. Registration fees include course materials, lunch and refreshment breaks. Registration deadline is Friday, February 23, 2007 Cancellations prior to this date will receive a full refund less a $10 administrative charge. Please register early, as participation is limited.

Location
The Holiday Inn French Quarter, located on Route 20 just off I-75 at Perrysburg exit #193. Access to I-75 is available via Turnpike exit #4A. If Overnight Accommodations are desired, the Holiday Inn French Quarter (419-874-3111 or 888-874-2592) has a limited number of rooms at a conference rate for single or double occupancy guaranteed through February 11, 2005. Please mention Experience Vascular Nursing conference when making reservations. Parking is available on the premise at no charge.
